Investigating the Effects of Plastic Rain Shelter on Sediment Yield to Hydroelectric Reservoirs in Cameron Highlands using RUSLE through GIS Application

Sedimentation in reservoirs is a common cause of lake and reservoir deterioration. Soil erosion becomes more likely with changing land use greater development the catchments, resulting higher sediment yield into reservoir. For many years, extensive increase agricultural farming areas that mostly open fields have been disadvantage for dams due to their potential create transport significant amounts sediment. Farmers Cameron Highlands, lately, invested heavily plastic rain shelters house vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, which are put on steep slopes; however, no similar study has undertaken possible consequences reservoirs. This paper aggregates predicted annual soil loss Upper Catchments Malaysia years 2017 2020 focusing application shelters, using Revised Universal Loss Equation (RUSLE) model derived GIS specifically QGIS. Precipitation, erodibility, topography, cover management, support practise information gathered modelling reasons.
